Further, Let us hear from him

Hello and Welcome Arvind!

Let us begin with your unique story, could you please share that with us?

Sure, I got into digital marketing by luck. I started with search engine optimization in  2011, after completing my B. Tech in Computer Science that year. I joined a company and worked as a  .net developer. But I was not satisfied with my role. Then luckily, one of my friends told me about digital marketing. He helped and guided me a lot and after some time, I started my career as an SEO/SEM Executive in a start-up. After 2 years, I joined a famous ad agency where I worked for many clients. In this agency, I shifted my role.

At that time, I was not aware of the real power of google and the digital world,  was not sure about what I am getting into. But the way the digital marketing sector progressed; I am glad I was in the right place at the right time. In my digital marketing career spanning over 9 years now, I have worked with various brands across sectors like consumer durables, entertainment, FMCG, Educational, Healthcare, and Investment. And now with a renowned consumer durable brand, Kent RO Systems Ltd, my digital marketing journey is getting even more interesting. What I love the most about my job is the dynamism it brings. It’s so vast and growing multi-fold that your learning will never stop. LinkedIn Profile

According to you, what’s the best way to start the day?

I love to start my day in a planned way. I prefer the beginning to be quiet as I allow my brain to absorb things for the day ahead. On a typical day, my biggest task is to check and assess how my day would look like. Hence, I usually use my travel time to plan my day and structure how my day needs to go.

After reaching office, I give a quick glance to my mailbox followed by preparing a to-do list for the day. I start listing tasks based on their priority & urgency. After that, I check my accounts and analyse their performance. I check the daily traffic, order number, revenue and other customer journeys and make changes accordingly. I spend a few minutes with my team where I share thoughts and brainstorm ideas to grow the business, accounts, and ourselves in the process. Apart from this, I keep a few hours to analyse data and mark the product and business flow. Before wrapping up my ‘task-loaded’ for the day, I always make sure to learn something new, be it a few new words or a new tool. During Festive Season (Sale seasons for e-commerce), the workload increased largely and we even faced new challenges but at the end with proper strategy and dedication, we achieved our targets. The best part about being a digital marketer is that there is so much to learn and implement, which keeps one from setting into the routine pattern of things. Always make it a point to read about new updates & explore innovative ways you could use various digital platforms.

Who is or has been your inspiration?

My biggest inspiration is my mother, she motivates me every day.

What makes digital marketing different from traditional marketing?

The best part of digital marketing is that we can track the effect and performance of our campaigns daily, which is a challenge in traditional marketing. I think this is a major difference. The main difference between digital and traditional marketing is the medium through which an audience encounters a marketing message. While traditional marketing uses traditional media like magazines and newspapers, digital marketing uses digital media, such as social media, websites, or e-commerce channels to reach to the greater audience.

What are your three favourite digital marketing tools?

There are various tools we use on a day-to-day basis some are paid and some are free to use. Tools like

  • Google Analytics to analyse website ROI, help with automated daily reports on mentions online traffic. It helps in analysing the traffic and act accordingly.
  • Google AdWords & Facebook Ads Manager: They are used to track the performance of various ad campaigns, and Lead management system like Salesforce to keep a tab on the pulse of our business ROI.
  • Amazon Pie It is used to track the performance of our e-commerce campaigns.
  • Amazon Marketing Services (AMS): Used to run sale campaign on amazon and trying to get the best ACOS.

How would you define success in your career?

I define success with happiness. Anything that makes your work rewarded/appreciated by your client/boss is a real success.

What is your biggest dream in life?

I want to start a product-based company in next 5 Year.

What’s worth spending more on to get the best?

Time Management, Discipline and Eager to Learn these are the 3 things which we should focus on and spend more time to acquire it.
