Further, Let us hear from him,

Hello and Welcome Apraatim!

Let us begin with your unique story, could you please share that with us?

Sure, my interest in marketing developed when I was in my higher secondary school. I, along with a group of my friends had an event management kind of a thing. We never called it a company, as it was just the 4 of us providing event management services to people in our hometown. It was just a way for us to generate pocket money for our expenses and obviously for enjoyment because you cannot expect a bunch of students to worry much about the future and that is how it all started. I used to take care of the marketing of our services, that is when I developed an interest in marketing. At that time, we did not rely much on Digital Marketing, it was more of good old traditional marketing, though we had some ideas about online marketing.

It was later, when I came to Bangalore for my graduation, I started pursuing Digital Marketing at a professional level and began learning more about web development, SEO, Social Media Marketing, PPC marketing etc. I even did a course to learn about Programmatic Advertising from Streamlyn Academy as it seemed quite interesting.

That is how I got into this field. I consider myself a lucky person to have got a good exposure at a young age. LinkedIn Profile

According to you, what’s the best way to start the day?

After waking, the first thing I do is arrange my room while listening to good music, I then prepare the task list for my day, which helps me put things in order and perspective.

Who is or has been your inspiration?

When it comes to inspiration my biggest source of inspiration is my parents. Professionally, I get inspired by my mentor Mr Amlan Das, who has been my constant source of motivation and has taught me a lot about this industry.

What makes digital marketing different from traditional marketing?

Digital Marketing is like the evolved form of traditional marketing, is what I feel. Yes, there are some advantages that one can get in digital marketing like the ease in data collection, data analysis and the ease of reach. But, both the strategies are primarily content-driven. It is just that, the way users consume content has changed from traditional means to digital means. But, both Digital and Traditional marketing are equally important.

A good marketing strategy should always be a combination of both and provide value to the target audience.

What are your three favourite digital marketing tools?

  • Google Analytics
  • Google Keyword Planner and
  • Google Ad Manager.

How would you define success in your career?
