An Interview with Sarath Patro Marketing Manager RegenOrthoSport

Sarath Patro is a Digital Marketing Professional and helps small and medium enterprises to grow on Digital Platforms. Having worked as Channel Sales Manager for Vodafone India, he shifted his domain to Digital Marketing. He has worked with Startups like Shootorder and is now with RegenOrthosport, a leading stem cell treatment centre in Mumbai and Hyderabad, India.

Hello and Welcome Sarath,

Let’s begin with your unique story, could you please share that with us?

Sure, I am 893,635,200 seconds old who looks up to the world from a different perspective. During my MBA, I read an article about  “Mark Zuckerberg” on how he made a million dollars through Facebook. That article fascinated me so much that I started pursuing Digital Marketing.

On Nov 17, 2014, I got placed in Vodafone India as Channel Sales Manager with a modest package. Like everyone, I was very happy that I got placement in an MNC. I completed my MBA and joined Vodafone on July 6th, 2015. Post that, I have performed decently well in my role and toped in all the sales parameters in AP & Telangana but I was never content with my job. Working in sales meant suffering from constant stereotyping, uncertainty, continuous pressure, long hours, competition, and rude attitude especially in the Telecom Industry. One thing I have learned from the sales job is “How to face Rejection”. I couldn’t see my future in sales anymore and then I had decided to quit and wanted to start a career in the Digital Marketing Industry. No one supports you to leave an MNC job and join startups. You will always have people who will discourage you when you want to do something different. These people became important in my life. They activated my inner strength and augmented my potential. What I achieved so far in my life honestly and genuinely is dedicated to those people.

After resigning from Vodafone, I decided to join a Digital Marketing agency startup. Fortunately, I got into Shootorder as an account manager in Hyderabad. I have handled more than 50 companies until now and successfully garnered the confidence of my clients with my passion and grit. My stint in Shootorder was for two and a half years. Currently, I am working as Marketing Manager at RegenOrthoSport. That’s my journey in short.

According to you, what is the best way to start the day?

For me, it is a workout and a book.

Who is or has been your inspiration?

I get inspired by many people like Sandeep Maheshwari, Gary Vaynerchuk, and Elon Musk.

What makes digital marketing different from traditional marketing?

The beauty of digital marketing is that it uses every touchpoint of your daily use of the internet to reach you. It can educate, engage, and convert within no time.

What are your three favourite digital marketing tools?

Semrush, Convert kit and Google Search Console

How would you define success in your career?

For me, success is Job satisfaction. I am happy with what I am doing.

What is your biggest dream in life?

I want to be financially free in the next eight years.
